To acknowledge the significant contributions of our EMCR IUPHAR and ASCEPT student members, travel grants will be provided at WCP 2026.

Please note that you may apply for a travel grant through only one society.

Applications for these grants will be accepted concurrently with abstract submissions via the abstract submission portal.

WCP EMCR and Student Travel Grant 

To be eligible for the EMCR Travel Grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a currently enrolled undergraduate or HDR student (e.g., Honours, Masters, or PhD) OR an early career researcher with a PhD conferral date after 14 September 2015 (considering periods of career disruption).
  • Be presenting an oral or poster communication at WCP2026.
  • Be a financial member of an IUPHAR member society.
  • Indicate their interest in being considered for a Travel Grant at the time of abstract submission.

Travel Grant Provision
The EMCR Travel Grant will be provided in the form of complimentary full congress registration (excluding social events). Priority will be given to delegates from these developing economies countries.

Notification Process
All applicants will be notified via email regarding the outcome of their travel grant application.

Successful awardees will be required to provide the following supporting documentation:

  • Proof of student enrolment status OR early career researcher eligibility (e.g., a letter from a supervisor or Head of Department, or PhD conferral documentation).
  • Evidence of financial membership in a current IUPHAR member society (refer to IUPHAR Membership).

Please note that verification of congress attendance will be required before the complimentary registration is confirmed.

ASCEPT Student Travel Grant 

In recognition of the valuable contribution of ASCEPT student members, ASCEPT is providing travel grants to support student attendance at the WCP 2026 Congress.

To be eligible for a student travel grant, students MUST be financial members of ASCEPT or submit the membership application in within 1 week of the abstract submission, Sunday 7 September 2025, and have been selected to present an oral or poster communication at the congress.

Eligibility and Requirements for ASCEPT Student Travel Grant

  • must be a currently enrolled undergraduate and/or HDR student (e.g. Honours, Masters, or PhD)
  • must be presenting an oral or poster communication at WCP2026
  • must be a financial Graduate Student member of ASCEPT by 7 September 2025
  • must be a financial ASCEPT member at the time of travel to WCP2026 
  • must indicate that they wish to be considered for a Student Travel Grant when submitting their abstract via the online submission site.

Notification and Reimbursement Process

All applicants will be notified via email regarding the outcome of their travel grant application. Successful awardees will be required to submit the following documentation for reimbursement processing: 

  • Proof of student enrolment status (e.g., a letter of support from a supervisor/Head of Department / Head of School or equivalent, confirming your enrolment status and how will you benefit from attendance at the congress)
  • Evidence of financial membership in a current ASCEPT member society (refer to ASCEPT Membership).
  • Receipts for travel and accommodation expenses related to Congress attendance, incurred by either the individual or their institution.
  • Must fill out the ASCEPT student travel grant form and provide flight and accommodation receipts by return email to the ASCEPT Executive Officer at: ascept@ascept.org by no later than Friday 19 June 2026 

Please note that verification of Congress participation will be required before reimbursements are processed.

ASPET TRAVEL AWARDS 

Graduate students and postdoctoral scientists are invited to apply for a travel award to help defray the cost of attending WCP2026. These awards are funded in part by the Thomas F. Burks Memorial Fund and the ASPET General Fund.

All application materials are due 18 September 2025, by 11:59 PM Eastern. 

Award terms
  • Award winners are required to attend WCP2026 in person.
  • The travel award consists of paid meeting registration and travel reimbursement up to US$3,000, which may be applied towards airfare, hotel, and other eligible expenses in accordance with ASPET travel policies. Reimbursement will be provided upon submission of valid receipts after the meeting.
  • Award funds are to be used exclusively for eligible expenses associated with the WCP20263 meeting. If you did not incur expenses up to the award limit, you may not carry over or defer funds for future years or other purposes.
  • Applicants may only receive one travel award to attend WCP2026; they may not receive a travel award or bursary from IUPHAR or another participating society.
  • If awarded, applicants may only receive one travel award to attend WCP2026; they may not receive a travel award or bursary from IUPHAR or another participating society.
  • Submission of an application does not guarantee receipt of a travel award.
  • Awards are contingent upon acceptance of the awardee’s abstract to WCP2026.
  • Award winners are required to visit the ASPET booth to receive their certificates and get instructions for a group travel winner photo.
  • All applicants must be members of ASPET in good standing at the time of submission and for the year in which the meeting occurs. The current year’s dues must be paid before we will accept an application. Please plan ahead and apply for membership at least two weeks prior to the award deadline.
  • All applicants must have submitted an abstract to WCP2026 no later than Monday September 15, and be the presenting author of an abstract for WCP2026. Applicants are required to provide their submitted abstract title and the body of the abstract. The abstract deadline is Monday, September 15 2025.
  • Graduate students must be enrolled full-time in a graduate or professional degree program and not have completed their degree requirements by August 31, 2026.
  • Postdoctoral scientists must have received a PhD or equivalent degree in pharmacology or a related field within five years prior to the date of application.
  • You must have already submitted your abstract via the WCP2026 site. You will need your WCP abstract details to submit your ASPET travel award application.
  • You will need to upload a current curriculum vitae (CV), broken down into the following sections: 1) Education, 2) Positions Held, 3) Awards and Honors, 4) Professional Society Memberships, 5) Publications, 6) Abstracts accepted for presentation (include authors, abstract title, and name, date and location of conference; you do not need the full text of the abstract.)
  • You will be asked to provide a brief statement (no more than 250 words) of your financial need for the award.
  • You will also need the full name and email address of an individual who can provide a letter of recommendation to support your application. You should choose a mentor, professor, or other professional who is familiar with you and your research. This person does not need to be a member of ASPET. Within the application, you will initiate an email request to this individual with instructions for completing the letter. Please allow a sufficient amount of time prior to the deadline for your reference to submit a letter. You may request the letter prior to finalizing the rest of your application.

BPS Travel Bursary

The BPS Travel Bursary will support members who are presenting an abstract or have been invited to speak at WCP2026.

Terms and conditions

  • Applicants must have submitted an abstract or have been invited to speak at the event
  • Only one author per abstract will be supported.
  • Only available to existing BPS members – priority will be given to those who have been members for at least one year.
  • Must have applied by the deadline – 11 November 2025.
  • Applicants should ensure their anticipated costs are in line with the Expenses Policy.
  • The maximum award will be £1,000. 
  • A maximum of six nights accommodation will be reimbursed.
  • Other costs, such as poster printing, visas and subsistence will not be reimbursed. 
  • The Society aims to cover recipients’ early bird registration, and:
    • up to 50% of travel and accommodation costs for Full Members and Fellows
    • up to  75% for Undergraduates and Early Career Members.
    • However, awards will be based on the number of applications, the allocated budget and the Society’s assessment of the most economical mode of travel and a reasonable standard of accommodation.

Receiving payment

  • To receive payment, a bursary claim form must be submitted within four weeks of the closing date of the meeting, along with receipts, abstract acceptance email or speaker invitation email, and a certificate of attendance.
  • The Society will only make payments to a bank account in the applicant’s name, unless otherwise agreed with the Finance Team.
